Water Thought

As I was thinking about how we dealt with conserving water on rafting trips, I remembered a couple key procedures we might adopt since it seems most water sources are towards the end of our days.

The main idea is to not bother filtering water at all unless you need to drink it right then.  If each of us brought in around 3 quarts of unfiltered/untreated water we could use that water for washing dishes and cooking things like rice, pasta, etc where the water is going to be boiled. Then each night or morning just put a couple drops of bleach in the container with a small amount of water to rinse it out. It only takes about 30 seconds to kill everything and when bleach dries it leaves almost zero residue.

This could save us a lot of time filtering water and then we can use the hopefully "good stuff" SJH2H provides for drinking.
